most anticipated releases of 2021

Hello everyone and happy Sunday, I hope you are all doing well and staying safe while celebrating the holidays. For my part, we are back in lockdown, so the past few days have just been me sitting in the same pjs and binge watching Haunting of Hill House (which is amazing btw) while drinking way too many cups of coffee…

Today’s post is one i’ve been looking forward to writing for quite a bit and as you can tell by the title, today i’m talking about my most anticipated releases of 2021, so without further, do let’s get to the books;

Concrete Rose by Angie Thomas

Coming out; January 12th

Ever since publishing THUG, Angie Thomas has not been letting me down. Her books are so so SO important in today’s society. I am highly looking forward to reading this one as it is a prequel to her first book ”The Hate U Give”. Needless to say, I have high hopes for this one.

Chain of Iron by Cassandra Clare

Coming out; March 2nd

Being the Shadowhunter hoe that I am, of course Cassie’s new book would make it to the list. Now, I know some of you might be thinking: Zoe, you haven’t even read ”Chain of Gold” yet !? I know okay?? I’m gonna get to it eventually but Chain of Iron stays on the list of most anticipated releases of 2021.

Act your age, Evie Brown by Talia Hibbert

Coming out; March 9th

I was excited about this one before even knowing it had autism rep. and now i’m just over the moon excited! this is the third and final book in the brown sisters trilogy and I cannot put into words how thrilled I am to dive into this book and learn more about Eve when it comes out.

Bridge of Souls by V.E. Schwab

Coming out; March 2nd

The third and final installment in this middle grade trilogy by V.E. schwab is coming out in March and even if i’m a bit sad that the series is coming to an end, i’m super hyped to see where this story takes place and what kind of shenanigans the main characters will get themselves into.

Lost in the Never Woods by Aiden Thomas

Coming out; March 23rd

Aiden Thomas took the book community by storm with his debut novel ”Cemetery Boys” this year and is coming back in 2021 with a new book with an even prettier cover than his debut (if that’s even possible….). I have literally no idea what this book is about, I can only assume it is queer and YA fantasy perhaps?? Either way, I am very much looking forward to it’s release.

The Accidental Apprentice by Amanda Foody

Coming out; March 16th

If you know me you know that Amanda Foody is in my top three favourite authors ever so of course whatever she writes will be on my most anticipated releases. I don’t know much about Wilderlore other than it has magic and is a middle grade fantasy book and honestly, that’s all need to know.

The Serpent’s Curse by Lisa Maxwell

Coming out; April 13th

If you’ve been around for a little bit, you’ve definitely heard me talk about ”The last Magician” trilogies by Lisa Maxwell. If you’re new here, let me sum it up for you; It is one of the best fantasy and slow burn romance I have ever read in my entire life. The third and final book is coming out this April so if anyone needs me, it better be before April 13th because I won’t be available at all that day.

The Tea Dragon Tapestry by Katie O’neil

Coming out: June 1st

After eating up the other tea dragon graphic novels, there is absolutely no reasons why I wouldn’t want this book on my most anticipated releases list. The tea dragons are adorable, creative, beautiful, diverse and extremely interesting to read about. These books are perfect, I have nothing negative to say about them so of course i’ll be reading this as soon as it comes out.

One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston

Coming out; June 1st

This one is one i’ve only learned about a few weeks ago after seeing how much a friend of mine who received an ARC of it loved it. ”One Last Time” is a sapphic love story that follows characters that are in their mid-twenties and honestly, that’s all I need to know. I read Casey’s debut ”Red, White and Royal Blue” not long after it was published in 2019 and I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed it and I think i’m gonna like ”One Last Stop” even more.

Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé

Coming out; June 10th

This book first got my attention for how beautiful the cover is. Secondly, after reading the synopsis for it and realising it was dark academia, it sounded like something I would definitely enjoy. Not only is it a book that dives into important subjects such as racism, it also has queer characters which is always a plus for me when it comes to reading books. Even if this book is still months away from getting released, I am super excited about it!

So, there you have it, my most anticipated releases of 2021! please let me know in the comments down below if you are also looking forward to reading some of these books or if there are other books I didn’t mention that you are excited about.

Please stay warm and safe out there, as usual you can find all my social medias HERE, Thank you so much for reading and until next time xoxoxo
