a list of books i NEED to read in 2020

“so many books, so little time”

let’s get straight into this; i have many problems, one of them is my tendency to buy books and leave them unread on my shelf for years. i’ve recently made a document of all the books i own but haven’t read and BOY let me tell you… it ain’t pretty 😬 so obviously, being the person that i am, i made a list of 10 books i desperatly need to get to in 2020!

1. The illuminae files: they’ve been out for years and i own the entire series. I don’t know what else to say, i’m a clown.

2. Muse of nightmare: i loved strange the dreamer with all my heart, i honestly don’t know what i’m waiting for.

3. Crooked Kingdom: to be fair, i only read six of crows a couple of weeks ago but crooked kingdom is one i need to get to ASAP

4. Vengeful: again, i loved vicious with my entire being but haven’t read the sequel. are you suprised yet?

5. The diviners: i just keep saying i’ll get to it but i never do. We’ll see if this year is any different…

6. Carry on: a harry potter reteling? Why haven’t u read this yet? Who knows? Not me apparently.

7. ACOTAR: this one was never really on my radar but i found it at a used bookstore for an extremely cheap price so i should probably give it a try this year.

8. A darker shade of magic: i mean victoria schwab is everything i want to be as a writer so of coyrse i’m gonna read all of her books

9. The raven boys: i’ve read the first one but never continued on with the other books but this year i intend to do so.

10. Ninth house: it came out last year so it hasnt been on my tbr forever but seeing the trend of the books prior im attempting to break this vicious cycle of leaving my books unread for years before finally getting to them.

So there you have it, a shameful list of books i havent read🤷‍♀️ let me know if you have or haven’t read the books listed above!

Thanks for reading my blog xoxo

  2. I’ve read 7 of these and they all ended up being either some of my faves, or just really freaking good books! So looks like you have a lot of good content coming your way this year. Vengeful has also been on my TBR forever. Perhaps we could do a buddy read? The only other two I haven’t read are Ninth House & Carry On. But great post Zoe and I can’t wait to see what else you have in store!

okay firstly, acotar …… how DARE you not have read acotar it is the BEST, other than TOG…. but I am biased by SJM is my favourite author but I don’t care I stand by my opinions. fight me.

secondly, the illuminate files are also incredible! very unique media in the way its told is incredible and makes the story so much better.

also vengeful. ugh. ok honestly not as good as vicious in my opinion but a VERY satisfying sequel that left me wanting so so much more

I really loved Crooked Kingdom – even though it wrecked me – as well as the raven boys! best of luck and hopefully you’ll love all of these books too.
