Hello ❤ it’s been a while since I last posted but today I felt inspired to do a quick reading update since the first 3 months of the new year have already pass.

At this point i should probably reintroduce myself since it’s been a while and some of you are probably wondering why you’re even seeing this in your email inbox having fully forgotten the bookish blog you subscribed to during the COVID lock down but i’m gonna keep it sweet and short (for now) so we can get to the actual blog post and just say this; hello, my name is zoe, i like books and i like to talk about those books on the internet, now let’s talk about them. 🤭📖

2026 reading + writing goals
For my reading goals I have a few;
- First, I want to read 120 books this year. It’s been a few years since i’ve read over 100 books in a year, and I feel like 2026 is the perfect year to reach that goal.
- Second, I want to make a good dent in my physical TBR. I’m pretty sure I have over 100 unread books on my shelves, and I would like to bring that number waaaaay down this year.
- Next, I want to catch up with the Shadowhunters books. They were, and still are, one of my favourite series, but for the past few years I haven’t kept up with the newest releases. I am currently re-reading The Dark Artifices, and then i’ll be able to catch up on the ones I never got to and be ready for the new one coming this fall.
- Finally, my last reading goal for 2026 is to try and read as many Stephen King books as I can. One of my life goals is to read all of his books, and although I have read quite a few, I still have many to go before I can say i’ve read them all and am up to date with his new releases.
For my writing goals, I don’t have many, I just want to write consistently this year. I used to write a lot, and I have many stories that i’ve written rough or first drafts for, but never revisited and then I forgot about them. This year, I’d like to fall back into the habit of writing at least once a week or so. So far, I’m doing pretty well, i’ve started two new projects, and I’m pretty enthusiastic about them.
January, February & March recap
Here are the 16 books I have read so far in 2026 divided by their ratings. Since I want to read 120 books in 2026 I have fallen a bit behind on my goodreads challenge but so far in april (as I am writing this) i’ve gotten out of my mini reading slump and have been reading everyday, trying to catch up on my goals.

Overall, I’ve read some pretty good books this year so far. Many rereads that I enjoyed and a few disappointments but for the most part I’ve enjoyed the books I started the year with.
Let me know if you’ve read any of these books and what you thought of them and if you have any recommendations for what I should read for the remaining of the year.
If you’re still here, thank you for taking the time to read me, if you’re new hi, welcome, i’m glad you’re here, i appreciate you. Feel free to like, share and follow me on my socials linked down below.
Until next time!
